Head Teachers’ message
As term draws to a close, may we thank you for your continued support of our school. Staffing has not been easy this last month, but most staff are now back so your children have enjoyed more normal staffing this last week.
The start of the summer term should also see some of our more usual events return. We are looking forward to June Rose day, swimming, Sports Day and a Year 6 residential as well as some events mentioned in the Parent Survey Action Plan, sent earlier.
Data and Attendance Reports for children in Year 1 to Year 6 are being sent home this week; if you would like to discuss these then please do get in touch.
We look forward to seeing your children on Tuesday 19th April and wish you all a very Happy Easter.
Yours, Lesley Middleton & Kirstin Howarth
Year 3 Staffing
Unfortunately, I do not have a firm date for the return of Mrs Jackson, but you will be pleased to know the class are flourishing under the teaching and guidance of the current staff.
Please be reassured that Year 3 have a qualified teacher in Mrs Gumbeer. She chooses to work as a higher level teaching assistant in school, but is actually a fully qualified primary teacher, and has often taught for us before. Miss Balchin is a very able teaching assistant, and is supporting the Y3 class very effectively. This means the children know the staff; the staff know our standards; and progress, behaviour and continuity can be well maintained. As a result, Y3 have great behaviour, are making good progress and have attained high standards this term. Well done Team Y3!
Our school is to attend an Easter Service in Church on Thursday, if you hold a Weldon School issued DBS you are welcome to join us and help escort the children to and from Church, please RSVP Mrs Middleton.
We now have a Twitter Account – we will use this to share our sporting achievements and other news, take a look:
We have now re-started a Parents/Teachers Association (PTA), they will support our school in fundraising, and events. Our next big projects are new outdoor gym equipment, a Reading Shed for the playground and new tables and chairs for all classrooms. Our School Council are selling raffle tickets, priced £1, the winner will be drawn on Friday morning!
During the Easter holidays our Year 1 will be decorated and re-carpeted. We have also just had a new interactive Smartboard fitted too.

Our Year 6 Tag Rugby players are the winners of an inter-school competition held at Northampton last month. Massive congratulations to all of the team who won all of their games. Well done !
Below is the Dodgeball team who won their LM Academy tournament last week; they won 6 out of 6 games.
Our Cricket Focus Day was a huge hit with the children. Having specialist sports coaches in school is always a great way to engage the children in being active.

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week – the last week of Lent leading up to Easter – it will be in our school holiday this year. On Palm Sunday Christians remember Jesus’ triumphant arrival in Jerusalem. As Holy Week draws to a close and Easter approaches, we have Holy Wednesday, commemorating Judas Iscariot’s intent to betray Jesus; Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples, and Good Friday, the day on which Christians around the world remember Jesus’ crucifixion and burial. With Good Friday over, Christians look forward to Easter Sunday, the day on which Jesus rose from his tomb. You might like to watch the Story of Easter (The Last Supper) on
As always, many thanks for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to contact Lesley Middleton or Kirstin Howarth, should you need.
